Law and business work experience for Year 12s

We are delighted to be supporting the Allen & Overy Smart Start Experience again in 2024. This provides young people facing socio-economic barriers with access to a high-quality programme of skills-building and business insight at one of the world’s leading law firms.

Smart Applications is a virtual insight programme for those who cannot or do not want to travel to London. Delivered entirely online , Smart Applications provides students the opportunity to gain interview experience, network with employees at a leading law firm and develop valuable employability skills.

Workshops for students

Causeway Education has been helping students to implement strategies to improve the quality of their applications since 2013.

The complexity of application processes provides an additional barrier to students, particularly those from under-represented groups, applying for competitive courses. With clearly defined, practical guidance, students can be supported to produce more competitive applications and prepare themselves for the destinations that are best for them.

Workshops for teachers

Causeway Education has been leading the way in helping teachers support students to make better choices about their university education since 2013.

We believe that, with the right preparation, teachers themselves are able to provide the best solution to targeting and supporting all students, including those from under-represented groups, the more able and those applying for competitive courses.

We can help teachers build institutional knowledge, based on detailed research, data and evidence, so they can make sense of the seemingly complex higher education landscape and confidently move students to their best destinations.

School/College Improvement through Careers Leadership

In partnership with the University of Wolverhampton, we have developed a Master's-level course that supports senior leaders to investigate how outstanding careers provision can be employed as a vehicle for wider school/college improvement.

Using a blended learning approach, the course will be delivered by expert practitioners in careers education, leadership and systems change. Each participant will leave with a detailed plan for using careers focus to address a whole school/college improvement priority specific to their institution.

“I just wanted you all to see an extract from our Ofsted inspection which happened before half term:

In addition, staff have worked hard, and with success, to raise aspirations for students to access higher education. Consequently, the proportion of students who hold offers for places, including at Russell Group universities, has increased.

We have as a school risen from Requiring Improvement to a Good, such a relief and thank you for all your help and support in helping us to increase aspiration.”
